Long-term consequences of minor head injury on family membersDepartment of Clinical Psychology, Northern General Hospital NHS Trust, Sheffield
Department of Clinical Psychology, Shirle Hill Hospital, Sheffield The emotional impact of a minor head injury on 25 relatives was investigated at interview six months after the event. Two and a half years later, eight of the relatives agreed to be reassessed. Psychological distress was identified at six months and appeared to persist for up to three years. This study was limited by the small number of participants, and further exploration with a larger sample is recommended.
