Relevance of social class and smoking in lower limb amputeesWithington Hospital, Manchester
Withington Hospital, Manchester This study set out to determine the relevance of social class status and smoking status in lower limb amputees attending a subregional prosthetic rehabilitation centre. Lower limb amputations are more common in social classes III and V and a majority of the amputees are smokers. Inequalities in health and health damaging behaviour in lower social classes are important factors in these at-risk groups.
